Eskilstuna Basket has decided to continue allowing exemptions during the cup. We believe this is important and would like to emphasize the opportunity for teams and clubs that may not have enough players in the right age group to participate. However, we would like to stress the importance of complying with the rules for exemptions so that everyone can take home positive memories.
Exemptions for players must be applied for in writing in advance via the system. When you register players, the system detects if anyone is overage, and you must justify why this player should participate in the tournament. For each player for whom an exemption is sought, an administrative fee of SEK 200 will be charged. The fee must be paid in advance for the application to be processed. If the application is rejected, the fee will be refunded.
Only Eskilstuna Basket can grant exemptions, and exemptions granted will be presented on the cup website with names and years of birth no later than one week before the cup starts. It is the club's own responsibility to submit the exemption application on time and to check that it has been granted.
Print out the exemption list from the website and bring it with you to show to the referee, opposing team, and secretariat before each match.
Exemption rules ( Tournament rules)
- Exemptions must be applied for in writing via the cup website before the tournament starts.
- Approved exemptions are presented on the cup website with name and year of birth.
- The coach is responsible for informing the referee, secretariat, and opposing team's coach before each match that an exempt player will be used.
- The coach must be familiar with how the exemption rules work and follow them.
- If several players on the team have approved exemptions, a maximum of one exempt player may be on the court at a time.
- When six minutes or less of the match remain, no exempt players may be on the court. Substitutions must be made immediately, at the first break in play, after this point.
- In Easy Basket, no exempt players may participate in the final period.
- The referee decides whether the exemption has been used correctly. If the exemption has been used incorrectly, the team may lose the match 20-0.
